Founded by local cycling enthusiasts, the first La Vuelta de Bisbee featured a small but fiercely competitive peloton taking on the challenging elevation changes around the historic mining town.
National Prominence
The race officially became sanctioned, attracting top-tier amateur and professional racers from across the United States. The legendary Mule Pass Time Trial was established as a decisive stage.
Record Breaking Heat
Remembered as one of the most grueling editions in history, temperatures soared, testing the endurance and spirit of every participant. Only a fraction of the starting field completed the final stage.
A New Generation
After a brief hiatus, the race was revived with immense community support, blending classic traditions with modern race logistics, and introducing the Women's Pro/1/2 category.
